This small farm pond can be a great spot to view a variety of waterfowl and shorebirds.

Specialty Species:

Shorebirds:  Scan the shore to find a variety of shorebirds during migration.

Snow Geese:  Check the pond for Snow Geese during the winter.

Greater White-fronted Geese:  Scan the pond for Greater White-fronted Geese during the winter.

The Pond: Bird the pond and surrounding grasses from the car.  Please stay on the road as this is all private property.

Directions:

From the North:  From the intersection of I-65 and SR-231, take SR-231 South.  After 12 miles, turn right (west) onto W CR500N.  The pond is located on the left or south side of the road immediately after this turn.

From the East:  From the intersection of Schuyler Avenue and US-52 in Lafayette, take US-52 North.  Follow US-52 to US-231 and turn right (north).  Go 1.05 miles and turn left (west) onto W CR 500N.  The pond is located on the left or south side of the road immediately after this turn.

From the West:  Take US-52 East toward Lafayette. Turn left onto US-231 (north) and go 1.05 mile to W CR 500N.  Turn left (west) and the pond is located on the left or south side of the road immediately after this turn.
