This marsh in the middle of agricultural Indiana provides great habitat to many migrating and wintering birds.

Specialty Species:

Waterfowl:  Scan the marshes on both the north and south side of CR 200N for many species of dabbling ducks and geese.

Raptors:  Drive the roads through and around the refuge for many species of raptors including Rough-legged Hawk and Northern Harrier during the winter.

Shorebirds:  Walk down the hill on the north side of CR 200N from Parking Area 3.  Scan the marsh for many species of shorebirds in the spring and fall.  Many rare species have been sited here in the past.

Sparrows:  Hike the trails throughout the property for a chance at many species of sparrows especially in the spring and fall.

Where to Bird:

Robert Feldt Marsh:  Walk around this marsh for a chance at many species.  Shorebirds and waterfowl can be exceptionally good around this large marsh.

South Marsh:  This area is a waterfowl resting area during the hunting season.  While you cannot enter this area at this time, some birds can be seen by scoping the area from the parking lot.

Directions:

From the North:  Take I-65 South to Exit 188 for SR-18.  Turn right (west) onto SR-18.  Turn right (north) onto CR-850 E after 9.8 miles.  Go 2 miles and turn right (east) onto E CR-200 N.  The marsh begins after 0.55 miles and the parking area is on the right (south) after 0.75 miles.

From the South:  Take I-65 North to Exit 188 for SR-18.  Turn left (west) onto SR-18.  Turn right (north) onto CR-850 E after 9.8 miles.  Go 2 miles and turn right (east) onto E CR-200 N.  The marsh begins after 0.55 miles and the parking area is on the right (south) after 0.75 miles.

From the East:  From the intersection of I-65 and SR-18, take SR-18 west for 9.85 miles and turn right (north) onto CR-850 E.  Go 2 miles and turn right (east) onto E CR-200 N.  The marsh begins after 0.55 miles and the parking area is on the right (south) after 0.75 miles.

From the West:  Take US-52 West toward Lafayette.  Turn right (east) onto SR-18 just south of Fowler.  Go 7.30 miles and turn left (north) onto CR-850 E.  Go 2 miles and turn right (east) onto E CR-200 N.  The marsh begins after 0.55 miles and the parking area is on the right (south) after 0.75 miles.
